SLEEPCENTER is pleased to host Nikola Nikoletic’s latest exhibition ‘Cocktails with an Accent.” The showcase, which will open on Sunday, June 27, 2021, will present the Serbian artist’s exploration of the potential result of combining social elements with art.

“In this project, the artist developed artworks through a mix of traditional and street-art forms of drawings, using various graphite pencils, color pencils, markers, spray cans, and acrylic colors applied on paper. He created a combination of poster-graffiti mix media pieces. Each artwork depicts a single image of a broad palette of cocktails with the intention of bringing the unofficial and independent visual art created for a public location to the gallery space,” explains curator Mensur Bojda.

Nikola Nikoletic was born in 1985 in Belgrade, Serbia, and graduated with an MFA from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade Printing Department. He is an independent artist and member of the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) since 2012. As of 2014, Nikola lives and creates in New York, where he explores diverse disciplines such as printmaking, street art, post-graffiti, painting, drawing, illustrations, and design.

The reception will take place at the Chinatown gallery between 6:00 to 9:00 PM and will be a one-night event.
